Hey everyone! In today’s post, I want to talk about Goku and his Super Saiyan Blue transformation. As you all know, the Super Saiyan transformation was unlocked by Goku during the Namek Saga, when he fought Freeza. Back then, this transformation was something that was considered to be the strongest in the Universe.
However, later, stronger enemies appeared, and because of that Goku and the rest of the Saiyans had to power up even higher. For instance, Gohan unlocked the Ssj2 transformation during his fight against Cell, or Goku displayed Super Saiyan 3 against Majin Buu. Later, in Battle of Gods, the concept God forms came in, and Goku was the first one to actually be able to use a God from among the Saiyans.
After getting the Super Saiyan God transformation, Goku took it a step beyond, and he was able to achieve Super Saiyan Blue, of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS), as some people like to call it. This transformation is simply the Super Saiyan version when utilizing God ki. But one of the biggest questions is, why doesn’t Goku use Super Saiyan 2, or Super Saiyan 3 with God Ki. Why doesn’t he go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 2, or Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 3?
We know that he’s capable of the transformation, so why doesn’t he do so? What holds him back? Well for one, the Super Saiyan transformations like Super Saiyan 2, or Super Saiyan 3 aren’t going to be used as much in Dragon Ball Super. This was mentioned by Akira Toriyama himself.
But most importantly, I believe that Goku doesn’t even have perfect control over the other two forms. The normal Super Saiyan is already straining on the body. When you talk about Super Saiyan 2, Goku hasn’t even mastered it yet, let alone Super Saiyan 3. His body can’t handle it for a long duration of time. So, with God Ki, it is obviously harder to do so.
In order for Goku to be able to use those two forms with God Ki, Goku needs to master the Ki control in both those forms. If he does that, I’m sure he’ll be able to pull it off, and once he can handle the strain it puts on the body, he can even stack Kaio-ken on top of it to make it even stronger. What you said about Goku not mastering Super Saiyan 2 or 3. you can't move on to another transformation without mastering the previous transformations first. In addition, God Ki make many strains on the body less harmful, as God Ki is used to bind a user's potential to the Ki itself, thus giving it a God-like nature and status about it. If the factor, that Goku could go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 2 or 3, then where would the plot be... honestly speaking.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Goku having the ability to use ultra instinct would make those transformations completely useless, knowing that Super is within a 10 period between the end of Kid Buu and the arrival of Uub. Meaning that since this carries over into what we knew about GT, it could also be assumed that Vegeta could have used God Ki against any opponent in GT, knowing he wasn't the one to lose his experience, with it as an adult, and wasn't turned into a child.
If Goku was to be able to go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 2 (or Evolved), or even Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 3, he would have to master God Ki itself. This meaning, that he would have to train to a certain extent to where he can transform into these certain forms. Also agreeing witht the other person of what you said. you cannot achieve a new form of Super Saiyan without having the others Mastered. Super Saiyan was mastered during the Cell Saga by all the Saiyan and Hybrid Saiyan Z-fighters. Super Saiyan 2 was mastered due to the factor that Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan all has had time to train for the 7 years Goku was dead (in Hell (if I'm correct). Goku also had ample time to achieve Super Saiyan 3, but didn't master it due to his lack of time and the strain it has on the body. Super Saiyan 3 would have allowed Goku to surpass his current strength at the expense of his life force (as stated by Akira Toriyama (in both Manga and Anime). Super Saiyan 3 would have required time to master, since it required the pull from deep within.
ReplyDeleteSuper Saiyan God was achieved by 6 Super Saiyans coming together and pouring their hearts into him. Thus creating the Super Saiyan God. Super Saiyan God itself, is an entirely new and transcendent Ki all on its' own. God Ki requires the user to be able to be pure hearted or train with someone of God Ki possenion themselves (in order to unlock it). DB Legends proved this theory to be true, and so did the manga, and anime. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, since it requires mastery of the Super Saiyan God Ki, would have allowed any weilder to be able to push themselves to such a less strenuous transformation. Goku and Vegeta were both victims of the unmastery of God Ki, which certified their previous limits. Goku and Vegeta would have to master this new form of Ki in order to be able to ascended further beyond. For example, Vegeta went a route that evolved the Super Saiyan Blue Form and made it a Royal Blue (making it an ascended version of Super Saiyan Blue (also known as Super Saiyan Blue Evolution)). The question should've been, can Goku achieve SSBE Vegeta's form or is this where the two branch of in two different directions?
Nevertheless, Goku and Vegeta, if both master God Ki before it gets out of control, maybe can push beyond their current Mastered Super Saiyan Blue State (as seen in the Broly movie).
FYI: Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta was actually in his evolved form (SSBE). Look at the eyes when a Kamehameha was released in Broly's direction. This meaning, what Vegeta has unlocked was the true form of Super Saiyan Blue.
