The Wano Kuni arc has been foreshadowed by Eiichiro Oda himself since before the timeskip in One Piece. Oda really wants to draw this arc, and you could even say that this is the arc he’s most hyped about. Recently, Oda was asked about One Piece’s plans in 2018, and he confirmed that we would finally be getting Wano Country arc this year.
He also said that he would introduce a legend lurking in the world of One Piece this year. According to Oda, the Wano Country arc will be far greater than any we’ve ever seen before.
Marineford, one of the greatest arcs in One Piece history, would be a joke compared to the scale of fight we’ll see in Wano Country. These are the words of Eiichiro Oda himself. So, I guess everyone is very hyped for the biggest war in One Piece, which is the war of Wano Country.
Kaido has already taken steps to start the war. On the other hand, Luffy has created the Pirate Ninja Mink Samurai Alliance, and he is dead set on taking down Kaido. But, can Luffy do it the way he is currently?
No disrespect to Luffy, but he’s not strong enough to stand a chance against a Yonko. That’s just not possible for him. On the other hand, Kaido is some who just cannot be killed.
He may have lost a couple of battles, but it is impossible to kill him. Luffy’s biggest feat so far in the series is to take down Commander Cracker in Whole Cake Island, and he would’ve lost had Nami not interfered.
He took on Doflamingo by himself, but you have to remember that the power of Yonko crew is on a whole new level when compared to a mere Shichibukai.
Some time ago, Oda was asked about Kaido, and his impending fight against Luffy. This is what he had to say about it,
“When Kaidou appeared for the first time, I said that Luffy can’t defeat such a strong character yet.
And I’m yet to know how Luffy would defeat Kaidou. Probably my audience will not be satisfied if the reason for defeating Kaidou is just because Luffy’s punch is so strong. Luffy and I have to find a solution somehow.”
So, Kaido is so strong, Oda doesn’t even know how to beat him. By the end of the Whole Cake Island arc, I think Luffy will be Yonko Commander level in terms of strength. If Law, and Kid somehow get to the same power level, I think they stand a chance. Otherwise, it is just going to be impossible for them to defeat Kaido. That guy is a monster, and he shouldn’t be messed with.
